HEATH — A small crew of Ohio Historical Society archaeologists surveyed the ground near the Great Circle Mound just below the surface Friday in preparation for a Labor Day weekend powwow.
“We thought it was a splendid opportunity and a great use of the site,” said Bradley Lepper, of the historical society. “Since it’s a historical society property, we have to make sure (there is nothing that would be harmed).”
The Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio is bringing its annual Labor Day powwow to the Heath mounds for the first time in its 29 years, NAICCO Executive Director Carol Welsh said. Read more.
